In Memoriam Bernd Mai

On the 22nd of December 2015 we lost Bernd. Since I knew him, he was fighting against a miserable illness. But whenever you were talking to him, he was positive, creating the future. He considered every day a win for being with his family and friends.

Bernd was a very active member in the photography community. He worked for the German Association DVF and was a well respected juror and a successful photographer. He always was full of ideas and new projects. Many fellow photographers were inspired by his work. His style was unique.

Bernd was member of the jury team of the German International DVF-Photocup from the beginning. We all are missing his expertise. Therefore the chairman Norbert Heil created a "Bernd Mai Memorial Award" for outstanding and trend setting photography.

Bernd, we always will remember you.
